Brief Biography Prof. Michael John Miller C.Eng., CITP, FBCS:
Michael is a respected international consultant in eHealth, Digital Transformation and Telemedicine strategy and programme management. He has worked on the largest of eHealth programmes around the World including NHS England, for the Supreme Council of Health – Qatar, Queensland Health – Australia, the Ministry of Health in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in Singapore developing an integrated care model and national EMR strategy for the Singapore Ministry of Health, and most recently with the Samoan Ministry of Health on a national eHealth programme financed by the Asian Development Bank and the Philippines DoH assisting with the development of their eHealth Terms of Reference for the Universal Healthcare System.
Michael has spent his entire career in the information technology domain with the last 15 years dedicated to working on large and complex eHealth programmes around the globe.
Michael was professor of business information systems on the Webster MBA programme at Regents College, Inner Circle, Regents’ Park, London (now located in Oxford) from 1992 – 2008.
Michael has delivered multiple advanced eHealth strategies and programmes for national Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Hospitals and Primary Healthcare systems, Pathology Modernisation and Diagnostic Imaging programmes as well as Integrated Care strategies, Semantic Interoperability, Clinical “Best Practice” integration, Decision Support, Telemedicine (NCD’s, Chronic Disease Management) and Healthcare Analytics.
He is the former Head of Programme for the London & Southern Clusters of the NHS England Connecting for Health Programme – National Programme for IT (NPfIT) (2004-2008) covering some 20 Million UK citizens.
His current research in the field of chronic disease via his company Care Innovations Corporation which represents a major step forward in cost effective, high quality care.
Michael is also a member of the WHO Digital Health Technical Advisory Group (DHTAG) Roster of Experts.
Michael has recently been appointed Advisor to Commonwealth Department of Health, the Australian Digital Health Agency to identify and recommend relevant technical standards to support Telehealth in Australia additionally he has been appointed an advisor to NHS England- NHSX – Blueprint programme for eHealth projects reviews – https://www.england.nhs.uk/digitaltechnology/connecteddigitalsystems/exemplars/gde-blueprints/
